The September 8, 2025 meeting is a great example of the work that city council does on a regular basis:
We opened with a discussion of improvements to the South Broadway corridor.
We received the first public, official presentation on the proposed land transfer at the Englewood City Center.
On September 8, we were scheduled to hear one additional item, but it was not heard because the first two topics took more time than anticipated.
I am especially proud of my contributions to the City Center discussion. Originally, the property transfer was scheduled for first reading the following week. This would not have allowed for any substantive public input on the proposal. I requested a longer delay, but city council agreed that two weeks between the study session and first reading was appropriate. I advocated for this delay because the detailed negotiations took place in executive session, and I felt it was important to allow the public to review the contract before approval.
